From exciting street foods to celebrity-chef restaurants, Taiwan is a mecca for food enthusiasts. And fortunately, to celebrate my Dad’s birthday, my family was able to rendezvous at W Hotel Taipei for a lovely couple days this past week. After enjoying iconic Taiwanese breakfast choices earlier in the morning (such as “Dan Bing,” fried egg pancakes), we found a nice afternoon tea spot in Taipei 101. Located on the 4th floor of Taiwan’s tallest building, the cafe was the perfect resting space in between shopping. After all, delicious afternoon tea cakes can substitute for a glamorous birthday cake right? (I definitely thought so!) But of course, no birthday gastronomic rendezvous is complete until a proper family dinner. After positive reviews, we made our birthday dinner reservation for YEN Restaurant on the 31st floor of the W Hotel. Boasting an amazing skyline view of Taipei, we were extremely excited to have some high quality Asian cuisine.
